Dr. Satyadev Rosunee (Associate Professor, University of Mauritius)
Dr. Satyadev Rosunee is an Associate Professor of Applied Sustainability in Textiles and Entrepreneurship at the University of Mauritius. He earned his PhD from the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology (UMIST, UK), a Master's from Leeds University, and a Bachelor's in Textile Technology from M.S. University, Baroda, India.
Satyadev was Dean of the Faculty of Engineering from 2015 to 2018 and a founding member of two departments: the Department of Textile Technology (1990-2012) and the Department of Applied Sustainability & Enterprise Development (2012). Satyadev has supervised 9 PhDs awarded by the University of Mauritius. He has published about 55 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He is passionate about sustainability as a change agent and entrepreneurship as a driver of innovation and social good. His current research focuses on the diffusion of Artificial Intelligence that has the potential to enhance manufacturing productivity & national competitiveness. |

Dr. Muhammet Uzun, CTex ATI (Professor- Marmara University,Turkey)
Muhammet UZUN has obtained his Ph.D in Technical Textiles from Institute for Materials Research and Innovation, The University of Bolton, the U.K. He received Masters of Philosophy in the field of Textile Technology from Institute for Graduate Studies in Pure and Applied Sciences, Marmara University, Türkiye. He has several years of Post-Doctoral research experience in various countries including Germany (RWTH Aachen University / Institut für Textiltechnik (2014-2016), France (Universite de Bourgogne / Institut Supérieur de l’xx Automobile et des Transports (2018), and the UK (University of Bolton).
Currently, he is working as a Professor at Department of Textile Engineering, Marmara University and he is also Assistant Director of Nanotechnology and Biomaterial Research and Application Center (NBUAM). He has been awarded France Research Fellowship for experienced researchers for carrying out the research work in the area of automotive composites in France. In addition, he has received numerous awards including “Best Laboratory/Pre-clinical Study” London, “The Best Research from a Developing Country Award”, London, “Protech and Military Textiles” Bursa, “Fancy Yarn Development by Waste Products” Bolu, “Design of High Tensile Core Yarn” Şanliurfa, etc. He has published several papers in the field of technical design, medical textiles, nanotechnology, design, nonwoven and composite materials. He has developed various industrial hemp products and structures. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles, 15 international book chapters, and 70 conference articles / presentations. He has received more than 10 National and International awards. His research interests include sustainability in textiles, bast fibers (hemp, vetiver, flex, jute). He is running Industrial Hemp Projects to establish hemp in Türkiye from local seeds to final products. |
